01 / ARRIVAL, CONNECTION, SEPARATION
Where do you go next?
A good guest experience starts before a workout or a game of padel. It starts with arriving, understanding where to go and moving naturally between spaces.
Which areas should connect? Which need a little separation? How do training, recovery, dining and a place to stay sit alongside each other? Those are the questions we want to work through before getting into the finer design details.
“I want the place to work as well as it looks.”Spencer Tarring · Day 9
02 / THE PEOPLE SHAPE THE PLACE
Built together.
This week’s training update was about something familiar: people who push you to do a little more. A shared workout, a bit of competition and time together afterwards.
Those everyday moments are helping shape the experience Spencer wants to create at SABR. The training footage is part of that inspiration; it does not show an operating SABR gym.
In the founder updates, Spencer also shared why health and fitness have become such a large part of his own life — and why he wants to build a place he would want to use himself.
03 / EXPERIENCE, SHARED OPENLY
Bring the lessons. Show the work.
Day 3 looked back at Umalas Creek in Bali. Building a hospitality project teaches one set of lessons. Running it adds another: the team, the service and the details that affect someone’s stay. That experience informs this next chapter in Lombok.
Days 5 and 7 returned to the conversation around the project: why share it from the beginning, how to respond to questions, and how the vision can include local opportunity. The aim is to show the thinking as well as the polished moments.
By Day 8, attention had turned to the first design proposals. Day 9’s sketch is the next step in that story: real work in progress, before the detailed design and features.
